Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Children and adolescents often benefit from having a safe, neutral and supportive person to talk to when they are uncertain and confused about the transition that their family is going through when their parents separate or divorce. They may feel angry or sad, or they may feel placed in the middle of the parental conflict and not know how to respond to their parents without feeling disloyal. They may become irritable or withdrawn, or regress in their developmental milestones. Children and adolescents experience uncertainty and stress when their parents divorce. When the uncertainty and stress of the divorce derails children and adolescents from their normative developmental strivings, individual psychotherapy can help them process their feelings and get their lives back on track.
Adult Psychotherapy
Separation and divorce are stressful life transitions that can be overwhelming to many adults. Psychotherapy provides a safe and supportive environment to explore the emotional upheaval and to begin the healing process.
